Counting down the Days...

I'm getting really slack with this blog, but at least i'm still doing it right?
I , haven't done any blogs lately because my fiance has had a few days off work and I would rather be spending time with him, sorry blog!

I did do some photography though.....of my partner and our dogs. I thought I should probably try and get some good shots of them, since we won't have them living with us for much longer. :( It will be so lonely without them here. But its just how it is.
I've also been watching a few tutorials on youtube about editing, because I'm hopeless! So I learnt how to put eyeshadow on a portrait (which i think is pretty nifty - I dont think I will need to use it much though), also how to whiten teeth ( i know its shocking I dont know basic editing, but I said I was hopeless), I learnt how to vignette a different way which was alright, and a few other things. In the photo's I put up I haven't used any of those techniques but I still like the photos!

 

I have less than one week until I do my first wedding. I'm starting to get very nervous, but I think I will do fine.  I really just have to stay calm and go about it slowly! Keep checking my settings and be outgoing. I really need to work on telling people how to pose, and stand to get the correct lighting and a well composed picture.
I wasn't too sure what to wear to the wedding either, but I'm thinking just black pants with a white shirt and maybe a vest, which actually fits in well because the colour theme is Black & White.

A day of Boredom!

Today, I did basically nothing.

I was pretty cranky this morning, cause our stupid dogs were barking most of the night, which was very stressful, but that is a very long story!

Last night I was writing out all my photoshoot ideas, I only got two written down because a TV show came on - my bad.

So today I tried to get into my creative mindset - that didn't really work. But I did manage to write down a few of my idea's that I already had in my head.

Its very hard for me to make sense of what is going on in my head, I have so many different small ideas to put into a photoshoot, but they don't all go together.
But one day they will work, and I'll have some pretty amazing photo's.
I'm not going to write my ideas down, because well people are pretty greedy, and I think my idea's are pretty unique - So I don't want people stealing them.

When I Do the photoshoots, I will post the photo's up here. :)

What I did do today, was edit some photos of myself that I have taken.

I am pretty horrible at self-portraits but these photos, I actually dont mind.

I'm Back

Obviously I have been slack! I said I would do another blog when we got back from visiting family, and well I didn't - we have been back for about a week now - oops!

While we were down home, I did my first paid photoshoot. It was of a newborn and his parents. I was incredibly nervous. All of a sudden there was this need to impress and be perfect.
A few years ago I heard a photographer say that all photographers are perfectionists, In ever other aspect of my life I'm hardly a perfectionist, but I always want my photographs to be perfect. Which is pretty hard when I'm just starting out.

Alot of the time I get pretty upset with my photographs. And continually critisise my works. This was one of these times.

I didn't have enough light on my subject, and was just trying to do everything so fast, that I didn't think of my composition much at all.

Obviously it will be different next time, because this has taught me a very good lesson. To just take my time and things will work out so much better.

I really need to do alot more tutorials on editing as well. I want my pictures to be perfect, so that my clients will be happy.

This is probably one of the better ones, which I actually really like this one. I like the angle and I like the lighting. Alot of my photo's turned out really dark, because I was stupid and just wasn't thinking of my settings or the lighting. But personally I like the darkness in my photographs -- but I'm not photographing for me. I just hope that my client likes them.
I ended up getting a baby sling thing, and we tried to do a few photos with that, but they didnt work too well. We started the photo's once the baby had just woken up - not a good idea. All he wanted to do was strech his legs and move around. Another learning lesson. *do newborn photos just before they go to sleep*

Again this one is REALLY dark, but for some reason I really like it, but still I doubt the client will.

I am really dissapointed in myself and my photos, but I think next time will be alot better, and I hope this doesnt ruin my chances in Photography.

Going Home!

Okay I didn't post anything yesterday - and I said I would be posting everday, I lied.
My fiance came home early and we had alot of stuff to do - that I hadn't already done, It was another lazy day.
And I wont be posting for a few more days, because we are going home to visit everyone :) Hooray.
I will be doing my Newborn photoshoot while we are there so I'm very excited/nervous. WISH ME LUCK!

Wine Time!!

Nothing has been done today in regards to my Photography - not good.
I have been having a pretty lazy day. I started to do some cleaning this morning, but I really got over that quickly :/
I always feel dissapointed in myself when I have a lazy day, yet I can still never motivate myself to do much.
So now I'm just drinking wine, sitting on the computer chattin away on facebook and doing this blog, because I really think I should do it everyday, even if I have done nothing.
-I can tell this blog is going to be so incredibly interesting -

In regards to the subject of the baby cocoon that i want for my shoot, I have found my saviour!!! A really good photographer that I know Emma Nayler told me about this woman who does it in my home town.Woot Wooz Childrens Clothing - she is amazing!! And such good pricing. Very happy with how things are turning out.

Thats all I really have to say ....Sorry my day has been so boring and this blog doesn't really flow.....Like I said, I'm drinking wine.

Day Three - A day for knitting/crocheting

Today I wanted to learn to crochet or knit - because of my post yesterday and wanting a baby cocoon for a photography prop.

It didn't go so well -

I don't like things to take forever, so here is my tiny miniature baby cocoon. When I tried to make a larger one I got two or three rows done, and then had a break. After that break I looked at how far i had gotten and realised somehow that my three rows were twisted, HOW DID THEY GET TWISTED!!!!

So now I'm thinking I will definetly just have to try and find a cheap one somewhere.
* I also had a look on http://www.etsy.com/ today for some, and found cheesecloth wraps, so I might just buy them because they look adorable in some pictures....Don't you think?

If anyone has any cute idea's for my photoshoot, please let me know!

Day Two!

So my day has gone really well! I have been asked to do a Newborn Shoot :)

So to get ready for the Photoshoot I was looking on Google and I saw the most adorable photograph of a newborn.

If you cant see - the photographers name is Kristen Cook - and i just had a look at her website and she is an amazing Photographer!

I think I will try this pose out when I do my newborn shoot next week.

I really wish I had one of the baby cocoon things to use as a prop I love the little pictures that can be made when using that prop.
